A theoretical Mobile and Desktop redesign of the non-profit organization NAMI.
Roles: Typography, Color style, Wireframes, Prototyping
The Problem
-
Non-Responsive Design (mobile first but ignored tablet and desktop)
-
Horizontal scrolling
-
Colors fail contrast standards
-
Difficult to discover classes and support options
The Solution
-
Create Responsive Design (mobile first)
-
New color style that is still in line with organizations branding
-
Redesign how classes and support options are found , so it is easier for the user
Research Phase:
We initially sent a survey via social media asking questions about how individuals seek mental health resources, and assessing general understanding of the services and resources available through NAMI.

Planning Phase:
After running Usability tests we found that 4/5 users could not find where to sign up for counseling classes or find the resources they were searching for. With this knowledge we set forth to simplify the process for those tasks, while also adjusting the design of the website to bring a sense of peace/tranquility to those visiting the site.

Prototypes
I created Lo-fi mockups of the mobile redesign. Some of those ideas got implemented in the Hi-fi mobile/desktop version, and I also prototyped the desktop navigation and a fly out card.
